01/26/10

Even with limited sleep last night, I was able to rise fairly early and spend some time alone, reading God's word and praying. What a joy it is to recharge in the morning this way! For years, I have asked God to renew a love in me for His word, and it seems he has done that. I am grateful!

I love the quiet of the morning. I enjoy sitting alone on the sofa with my coffee in hand and my Bible spread across my lap. It gives me clarity of mind and rejuvinates me. It fills me with enough energy to face the day of unknowns ahead. With days filled with chaos and noise, this hour of quiet in the morning is priceless to me.

So, now, after a brief reading in Isaiah, where God promises to direct his people and to give them ears to hear his voice, I feel ready for the pitter patter of little feet. I don't think it will be easy today, and I'm sure I'll feel tired on and off, but I am confident that God's voice will be speaking to me to help me accomplish whatever work he has for me this day. So, I say to those sweet young balls of energy, "Bring it on!"
